7/15/2012 Our Garlic is HangingĀOur wagon is drag'n from the heat but on the bright side, the garlic looks great hanging in the barn. We can't wait to get the rest dug up and hung.
The Chickens and Ducks have been busy this winter gaining weight and foraging for bugs- without the cold snow to contend with, the chickens were able to enjoy a lot of free range time in the yard looking for tasty morsels! The Farm Stand is now open with chicken and duck eggs. Pick your own dozen, $3.00 per dozen! Enjoy the weekend! 1/13/2012 Savory Sunday Gift BasketsWelcoming in 2012, the first order of the year for custom gift baskets came with the line "Just make it what you're about". Fall is here and the gardens are looking barren. The chickens and ducks have slowed laying eggs in preparation for winter. Although the farm stand closed for the season there is work to be done. We are to prepping the gardens for their winter slumber with a nice blanket of compost and mulch. We are implementing some great ideas from now till spring in the garden to increase next years yields and set up for a early spring harvest. Check back for the blow by blows. "Raised Beds, cold frames, Garlic, winter crops and new chickens and ducks" just to name few.
