11/19/2011 Happy ThanksgivingWinter is rapidly approaching and here at The Grassy Knoll Farm we are squeezing every last bit out of autumn that we can. The freak snow storm that left a massive amount of tree damage and a week without power gave us a new perspective on the harsh reality that winter is around the corner. With our new appreciation for the few warm days left in the season, we are not wasting a single nice day as we prepare the farm for Thanksgiving and crossing our fingers that the warm weather holds. Cheers! Jason and Teresa 9/20/2011 Johnny's SeedsWe found Johnny's Seeds a few years ago and have been filling our seed and supply order there ever sense. The quality and verity of seeds perform great on our farm here in Connecticut . They also have custom tools, supplies, greenhouses, organic, etc. We always buy a little extra knowing our money is going to a good place. We just wanted to share our favorite seed and garden supply company with you. Cheers! PS: PLANT YOUR SPINACH. This historic weekend is the culmination of three years of classes, research, making many batches of wine from box kits to creating our own wine from fresh juice in the pail. Our first crushing. Now, on to the hard part... Crush DayFermentation 4/3/2011 The Spring Duck runTeresa and I tried to guide the ducks to their summer pen and it went.. well you'll have to watch. |
