Compost Bins

9/19/2011

We decided our old compost pile was making the grade so on this Saturday we started construction on the new bins. We finished leveling the ground by the afternoon which required the removal of two tree stumps and one good sized rock. The bins will be made out of ridged panel fencing and T-Posts.
Materials:
  • 1- 36" x 16' hog panel cut into 4' sections
  • 1- 48" x 16' hog panel to be used for the back side
  • 8- 5.5' t posts spaced at 6' / 6' / 4' by 4' deep
  • Bailing wire
We finished assembling the compost bins which only took about 3hrs. All said and done it went very smoothly. The panels worked like a charm.
