More Garden Work!

To protect the pepper plants from the elements and to give them a fighting chance outside the greenhouse (we grew great peppers last year in the greenhouse, but space is at a premium!)

we decided to build them a small greenhouse outside! In just a few hours, Jason and I, turned the garden bed over, added some manure to amend the soil, planted the pepper plants and erected this small top greenhouse. All while Ella was napping with her "next door Grandma"! Along with keeping the peppers out of the direct rain and other elements, the greenhouse, though it is only a top greenhouse, allowing air and moisture to come into the plants through the sides, does keep a lot of heat in, creating the perfect (we hope!) conditions for growing peppers. We will report back throughout the season to let you know how all the plants are doing! In the picture below, you can see our garlic all the way at the end of the bed. Amazing!
