One Hot Mother's Day of Work

It might have been a beautiful Mother's Day, but we finished  working on the greenhouse despite the heat and  the humidity inside it! We installed a 40% shade cloth, which is recommended for greenhouses in New England.

 Amazingly, we could tell a difference in the temperature in the greenhouse almost immediately! Not only is the air temperature much more manageable, but because of the white plastic mulch, the soil is also cooler. Hopefully this will keep the tomato plants disease free, and increase our yields!
