Visual Aids

So, this picture clearly demonstrates the fact that I am impaired when it comes to picturing all of the improvements around the farm. To assist with the visually impaired, my husband diligently draws in wipe off markers on our windows his ideas for

renovations here on the farm. 

These pictures are detailing four different ideas for our new side patio area which will encompass a rock wall and pizza oven! 

When he starts to describe the structures and the ideas he has for the rock wall and the patio, I stare at him blankly. I simply cannot in my head visualize what it is going to look like.

He finally decided to start drawing the pictures on the windows, then he pulls me in front of them, stands me at an appropriate distance from the window and presto! I have a real life, real visualization of how the project will look when completed. 

We struggled with this project in particular, because it is in front of the main windows in the living room area, and we planned on putting a roofed structure over the pizza oven. We really didn't want it to obscure our view of the upper vineyard and hillside. I think after much deliberation we have decided on the final plan, now to build it! Stay tuned for more pics and discussion as the project moves forward! By the way, we decided on a small, beautiful stone for the patio area, we picked it out the other day at Haynes, lovely little river pebbles!
